On July 27, 2024, Pines City Colleges (PCC) successfully conducted an insightful seminar aimed at enhancing the technological proficiency of its employees. Held at the Computer Laboratory in rooms 105 and 106 on the 1st floor of the ESBC Annex Building, the seminar was organized by the PCC Human Resource department in coordination with the PCC Information and Communication Technology Department, under the leadership of Ms. Genesis Corinth Abella.
Themed “Tech SAVVY for EVERYONE: A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO TROUBLESHOOTING COMPUTERS AND PRINTERS + MASTERING MICROSOFT WORD AND EXCEL BASICS,” the seminar was designed to enhance productivity among office-based non-teaching staff. Participants were introduced to fundamental computer operations and troubleshooting techniques for common printer issues. Additionally, the seminar provided valuable insights into basic functions of Microsoft Word and Excel, aimed at improving their efficiency and confidence in using these tools.
Following the session, the employees were separated into two groups to complete an exercise. Employees could choose whether to attend basic or advanced instruction. This program taught them new technologies in Microsoft Word and Excel. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many employees expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to learn new skills and gain confidence in handling everyday technical issues. The success of this seminar highlights the institution’s dedication to fostering a technologically adept workforce, ensuring that employees are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the digital age. #Collin Jaye Laguinday
