Pines City Colleges Unveils New Student Lounge: A Space for Comfort and Community

Pines City Colleges (PCC) officially inaugurated its newly created student lounge on February 7, 2025. The event marked a significant milestone in the development of the campus, offering students a dedicated space for relaxation during their breaks. Located in the former bookstore area near the PCC Garden in the main building, the lounge provides a comfortable and welcoming environment for the student body. The launch event was held in conjunction with the first Friday Mass of the Month: adding a meaningful and reflective component to the occasion. The PCC Supreme Student Council President Ms. Zhianela Rishun Vicente and P.R.O Ms. Nicole Pekas were also present, contributing to the event’s success and showing strong student representation.

The newly launched lounge is designed as a dedicated space where students can unwind, socialize, or simply enjoy a peaceful break. However, the lounge is not only a place of comfort, but also an environment that promotes responsibility and cleanliness. To ensure the space remains welcoming for everyone, certain guidelines have been set in place. The PCC Student Handbook 2023 applies to all activities conducted within the lounge, helping maintain a safe and respectful environment for all users. The lounge will be open daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. To keep the lounge clean and comfortable, the “Clean As You Go” principle should be followed at all times by all students. Additionally, students are expected to practice responsibility and respect for others while using the space. Finally, the lounge can be reserved for events or activities, but such reservations must be approved by the Office of the Vice President for Administration.

The addition of the student lounge is a key part of PCC’s ongoing efforts to enhance the overall student experience. Beyond serving as a comfortable retreat, the lounge exemplifies the college’s commitment to providing modern, accessible facilities that foster a sense of community among its students. It is anticipated that this new space will become a hub for social interaction, creativity, and collaboration, further enriching the academic and social life at Pines City Colleges. #Collin Jaye Laguinday
