In celebration of Nutrition Month 2026, the Student Affairs and Services Department, in collaboration with the ICT Department, successfully conducted the NutriSmart Campus: “Swap This for That!” Healthy Grocery Challenge from July 1 to 3, 2026 through the interactive kiosks located at the ESBC Main Lobby and ESBC Annex Internet Library.
The interactive game transformed grocery shopping into an engaging learning experience by challenging participants to replace processed food items with healthier, nutrient-dense alternatives. Through nutrition-related questions and simulated grocery decisions, participants enhanced their knowledge of balanced diets, food groups, and healthy eating while developing practical decision-making and critical-thinking skills.
Open to all currently enrolled students and PCC employees, the three-day challenge also highlighted the importance of making informed and budget-conscious food choices while raising awareness of how factors such as food scarcity, seasonal changes, and supply-chain limitations can influence access to nutritious food. The activity supported the promotion of health, well-being, inclusivity, and quality education in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and relevant CHED policies.
