Colors of Unity: Celebrating Diversity, Inclusion, and Well-Being at PCC

Pines City Colleges, through the Student Affairs and Services (SAS), Guidance and Counseling Services (GCS), and the Gender Sensitivity and Disability Committee (GSDC), successfully conducted “Colors of Unity: Celebrating Diversity, Inclusion, and Well-Being” on June 29–30, 2026, at the ESBC Annex Building, 3rd Floor, beside the Internet Library.

The two-day activity gathered students and employees in a vibrant celebration of diversity, acceptance, and mental wellness, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Recognizing that academic excellence flourishes alongside holistic well-being, PCC continues to foster a campus culture where every individual feels respected, valued, and empowered regardless of background, identity, or ability.

Throughout the event, participants proudly wore colors symbolizing diversity and inclusion as a visual expression of solidarity and unity. A photo booth corner provided an opportunity for students and employees to capture memorable moments while promoting the message of belonging and acceptance. Meanwhile, the Freedom Wall became a meaningful platform where participants shared inspiring messages of hope, encouragement, kindness, and support, highlighting the importance of empathy and mutual respect within the college community.

To further promote mental wellness, the Guidance and Counseling Services facilitated a Mental Health and Stress Management Booth, where participants gained valuable information on maintaining positive mental health and learned practical stress management techniques through creative expressive therapy activities. The interactive booth encouraged open conversations about mental well-being while emphasizing the importance of seeking support and practicing self-care.

The activity aimed to raise awareness and appreciation of diversity and inclusion, encourage positive self-expression through messages of support and acceptance, and provide a safe space for meaningful conversations about well-being and belongingness. Through these engaging initiatives, participants were reminded that embracing differences and supporting one another are essential in building a compassionate and resilient academic community.

“Colors of Unity” also reflected Pines City Colleges’ commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) which promote health, inclusivity, equality, and supportive educational environments.

As the event concluded, participants left with a renewed appreciation for diversity, stronger connections with fellow members of the PCC community, and a shared commitment to fostering kindness, respect, and inclusion. Through initiatives like “Colors of Unity,” Pines City Colleges continues to strengthen its vision of developing not only academically competent individuals but also compassionate, socially responsible, and mentally resilient members of society. #ICA
