With all the weeks of vigorous preparations, Pines City Colleges (PCC) was granted new accreditation recognitions for two of its programs.
PCC received a Level II Re-Accredited Status for its Respiratory Therapy (RT) Program from the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) for having satisfactorily met the standards and fulfilled all the requirements of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). The accreditation was in conformity with the Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order No. 1, Series of 2005, or the Revised Policies and Guidelines on Voluntary Accreditation in Aid of Quality and Excellence in Higher Education. The certification recognition for the RT program is valid until May 2028. The RT program of PCC was granted the Level I Accredited Status in 2018.
The Nursing Program of PCC was also granted a Level I Accredited Status, which is valid until May 2026.
The PACUCOA accreditation process started on April 17–19, 2023, through the Remote Virtual Accreditation (RVA), in which a team of accreditors conducts verification on an educational institution through the virtual room. PCC facilitated virtual classroom observations, tours of the campus’ facilities and rooms, and interviews, dialogues, and discussions with the faculty, students, and non-teaching personnel, among others, for the accreditors to accomplish their reports.
With the newly acquired accreditation, PCC commends the efforts of the academic affairs, administration, students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel for realization of its goals. In 2024, PCC’s perspectives adhere to continuing allied health education and services for students and the public. It also aims to complete the necessary requirements for the continuing improvement of other academic programs to be accredited by PACUCOA and other accrediting agencies locally and internationally. # Adela Wayas
