Students Explore Self-Expression and Wellness in “Writing to Heal” Journaling Workshop at Pines City Colleges held on October 27, 2025

In the age of digital distraction and academic pressure, the Guidance and Counselling Services Program, headed by Ms. Consuelo E. Pagaduan, RGC, and the PICCASO (Pines City Colleges Academic Scholars Organization) officers collaborated and offered the students a dedicated space to reconnect with themselves through the simple yet powerful act of self-expression. On October 27, 2025, students were invited to the PCC Main Open Grounds for “Writing to Hal: Exploring the Art of Journaling as a Guidance Tool”, a day-long workshop designed to harness the therapeutic benefits of art and beyond traditional counselling sessions into expressive arts.

The guest speaker from “Journal Social Baguio (Craft with Stephanie)”, Ms. Stephanie Marie Torres started the workshop with a discussion for an “Understanding the Self class”. The workshop started at 9 in the morning, and throughout the day, students created outputs from the offered activities. Activities such as card making, bookmark making, drawing, coloring templates, and journaling to fully express their emotions. The PICCASO officers also made their own activities to help, encourage, and motivate their other students. Rope of hope, pick a message, create a message, and bookmark making were the activities offered by the officers. The departments included were BSRT, BSN, DDM, BSP, and BMLS.
At the end of the workshop, every creatively made output of dedicated students was displayed for the viewing of any student. With these innovative ways to heal, everyone has a way to start their journey to self-care. #Lorraine Tresenio
