Student Leaders General Orientation and Leadership Training Seminar: A Day of Engagement and Growth

Last Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the PT-AVR, student leaders from various organizations at Pines City Colleges gathered for the Student Leaders General Orientation and Leadership Training Seminar which was organized by the Student Affairs and Services (SAS). The event emphasized the importance of “Engagement & Participation,” fostering camaraderie, strategic planning, and leadership development among the new and re-elected student leaders.

The seminar started with an informative session, where students had the opportunity to introduce themselves and form initial connections. This was followed by a segment on Impressions for Different Organizations, allowing participants to share their perspectives and learn about the diverse groups represented by the various institutional and collegiate organizations.

Ms. Sunshine Grace Gano, Student Affairs Officer (SAO), led an important discussion about the new organizational forms and the procedures for re-accreditation during the seminar. Student leaders were guided through the process of developing effective strategies that are consistent with the goals of their organizations and the school’s values. Additionally, the presentation of One Year Development Plans by the Supreme Student Council, celebrating their 10th year of existence, provided excellent encouragement for other organizations to collaborate with them on their projects.

A highlight of the event was the GAWAD PINES AWARDS which was showcased by Sir Jason P. Belino Head of SAS, recognizing outstanding student leaders and organizations for their contributions and achievements. This was then followed by an Evaluation Discussion, where participants reflected on the day’s activities and shared insights on how to improve future activities.

Sir Belino during the seminar also featured a motivational Leadership Talk, which emphasized the words “I Am Just Like You,” inspiring students to embrace their potential and lead with confidence. The day concluded with a fun and interactive Ball Activity, reinforcing the importance of alertness, teamwork, and collaboration.

The event showcased the lively and active student leadership community, with the prospering phrase #EverythingIsGood reflecting the day’s joyful and cheerful atmosphere. As the seminar concluded, everyone was energized and had a clear vision for the coming year. #Zen Heart, B. Angelada
