Pines City Colleges (PCC) once again demonstrated its steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship through a meaningful annual tree planting activity held on September 20, 2025, at the Baguio City Botanical Garden. Organized by the Community Engagement Service (CES) under Project ANGELS and spearheaded by Ms. Rowena T. Acacio, the initiative reaffirmed PCC’s dedication to sustainability and active community engagement.
Students and volunteer employees worked hand in hand, grouped by departments, to ensure an orderly and efficient planting process. A total of 560 seedlings, generously provided by the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO), were planted in the northern area of the Botanical Garden. This continuing program, which began in 2009, reflects PCC’s long-standing commitment to environmental preservation and ecological responsibility.
As this initiative also forms part of the Balili River rehabilitation efforts, the tree-planting activity contributes to preventing soil erosion, improving water quality, and restoring the surrounding ecosystem. Through this collaborative endeavor, PCC reinforces its role in supporting sustainable environmental practices and fostering environmental awareness among students and employees alike.

More than an annual activity, the tree planting fostered unity, cooperation, and a shared sense of purpose among participants while contributing to the enhancement of Baguio City’s natural landscape. The newly planted trees are expected to improve air quality, provide shade, and stand as a lasting testament to PCC’s role as a responsible steward of the environment.
This initiative serves as a living legacy of PCC’s advocacy for sustainable development, inspiring students, faculty, and staff to remain active partners in protecting and nurturing the environment for generations to come. #Iveeh Amparo
