On December 11, 2024, the students of Lucban Elementary School were filled with joy as Pines City Colleges’ Project A.N.G.E.L.S. hosted a heartwarming event, “Christmas with Children.” Led by Ms. Rowena Acacio, the head of PCC’s Community Engagement Services, this annual tradition brought gifts, love, and holiday cheer to the young ones. The event aims to fulfill a dream many children hold dear — the belief in Santa Claus — and Project A.N.G.E.L.S. helped make that dream come true for the children of Lucban.
To make the event a success, both teaching and non-teaching staff of Pines City Colleges volunteered to take on the roles of Santa, Ate, and Kuya. Each employee was paired with a child to care for throughout the event. The Santa, Ate, and Kuya guided the children from booth to booth, where they participated in games and received prizes. The joy on the children’s faces was evident, and many of the employees found themselves reminiscing about their own childhood experiences. For some, the event even brought a sense of healing, as it gave them the opportunity to relive the joy of Christmas they may not have experienced when they were younger.
In the end, “Christmas with Children” was more than just an event — it was a reminder of the power of giving and the lasting impact of kindness. As the children left with wide smiles and hearts full of cheer. This activity is reminder that the true spirit of Christmas is found in the joy we bring to others. Project A.N.G.E.L.S. continues to light the way for young hearts, proving that even small acts of kindness can create lasting memories and make the world a little brighter. #Collin Jaye Laguinday
