PCC-SHS Student-Athletes Shine at District 8 Athletic Meet

Pines City Colleges (PCC) Senior High School student-athletes proudly represented their school at the District 8 Athletic Meet, which officially opened on October 9, 2025, at Bonifacio Elementary School. The annual event brought together students from various schools across the district and featured multiple sporting events, including badminton, basketball, and chess, held in different venues throughout Baguio City.

In the chess competition, Grade 11 students Rachelle Calubat and Jhassen Kyle Sotero represented PCC-SHS with pride. Rachelle delivered an outstanding performance in the Chess Female Division, winning four out of five intense matches. Her strong and consistent gameplay earned her 2nd place among the district’s top female chess players.

As a result of her outstanding performance, Rachelle will advance to the Palarong Panglungsod, where she will represent District 8 and face top contenders from other districts in the city.

Meanwhile, PCC’s Basketball Team claimed victory in their final match on October 12, 2025, at the Pinsao Pilot Barangay Covered Court. The team showcased skill, teamwork, and determination as they defeated their opponents and earned a well-deserved qualification for the Palarong Panglungsod.

The entire PCC community continues to show unwavering support for its Senior High School student-athletes, who embody the spirit of sportsmanship, dedication, and excellence. With hearts full of passion and pride, these young athletes strive to bring honor and glory to Pines City Colleges. #Alexander Joshua Santos and Krystal Dayrit (SHS)
