PCC Opens Intramurals 2025 – 2026 with Spirit and Unity



PCC officially launched Intramurals 2025 – 2026 with a lively opening ceremony held on March 5, 2026, at the PCC Covered Court. This year’s celebration carried the theme “One Spirit, One Goal, One Heart: Building Excellence through Sports,” highlighting unity, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students and faculty.


The program began with a colorful parade of departments, featuring faculty members, players, escorts, muses, and mascots from the General Education Department, Supreme Student Council, Senior High School, School of Medicine, and the various colleges of PCC. The ceremony was hosted by Mr. Richard Neil Gaw and Ms. Charile Vicente, followed by the entrance of colors, invocation led by Mr. Kurt Balicao (Mr. PCC 2025), and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and PCC Hymn.


In her welcome remarks, Dr. Marian Grace Gascon, Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized the significance of the intramurals theme. She highlighted how the event strengthens unity and solidarity within the PCC community while Supporting the institution’s mission and vision. Dr. Gascon also encouraged the athletes to make the most of the experience, wishing them success while reminding them that sports helps develops discipline, perseverance, confidence, and teamwork.


The Guest Speaker, Mr. Samuel Mendoza Jr., a National Football Referee, delivered an inspiring message to the participants. Introduced by Student Affairs and Services (SAS) Head Mr. Jayson Belino. Mr. Mendoza underscored that intramurals are often one of the most memorable highlights of student life, as they foster skill development, communication, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Mr. Mendoza underscored that intramurals are often one of the most memorable highlights of student life, as they foster skill development, communication, teamwork, and sportsmanship.


Adding excitement and creativity to the opening program was the Mascot Competition, which featured characters inspired by the animated film Kung Fu Panda. Each department showcased their interpretation of the film’s iconic characters:

  • Po – Senior High School
  • Master Shifu – College of Nursing
  • Tigress – College of Respiratory Therapy
  • Tai Lung – college of Medical Laboratory Science
  • Master Oogway – College of Dentistry
  • Viper/Mantis – School of Medicine
  • Master Monkey – College of Pharmacy
  • Master Crane – College of Physical Therapy

The College of Medical Laboratory Science won the Mascot Competition Championship for their portrayal of Tai Lung, followed by the College of Respiratory Therapy as First Runner-up with Tigress, and the College of Nursing as Second Runner-up with Master Shifu.


The celebration continued with the Cheer Dance Competition, where the College of Pharmacy emerged as the Champion, followed by the College of Dentistry as First Runner-up, and the Senior High School as Second Runner-up.


Several special awards were also presented during the program. The College of Medical Laboratory Science received the Most Inner Warrior (Mascot Award) and Best Escort, while the School of Medicine was recognized as the Most Supportive College. The Senior High School earned the Best Intramural Banner, the College of Physical Therapy won Best Jersey Design, and the College of Nursing was awarded Best Muse.

The successful opening ceremony marked the beginning of a week filled with sports competitions, teamwork, and school spirit, as PCC students and faculty unite to celebrate athletic excellence and community camaraderie through Intramurals 2025 – 2026. #Iveeh Amparo
