Pines City Colleges once again turned the ESBC Annex open grounds into a bright and joyful place for the annual Christmas Cantata held on December 4, 2025. This year’s celebration was not only a tradition, it became a touching reminder of the Filipino spirit. The theme, “Liwanag ng Parol: Tanglaw ng Pag-asa, Pag-ibig, at Katarungang Pilipino,” was created by Ms. Shiena Marie Dalaten from the College of Pharmacy. It beautifully describes the true meaning of Christmas, highlighting the hope, love, and desire for fairness that Filipinos value.
Ms. Ma. Regina Prats, Vice President for Administration and Finance, opened the event with an inspiring message. She shared how the theme reflects the challenges Filipinos face today. Despite difficult times, the light of Christmas continues to guide and strengthen people. She reminded everyone that hope shines even in dark moments, love is shown through real actions, and justice is a shared dream that lifts the community.


The event started with the Christmas Bazaar: Intercultural Trade Fair, where the Supreme Student Council invited five organizations to showcase the traditions of various countries. The PCC Covered Court turned into a global village, filled with creative and colorful booths. The Senior High School won first place with their Japan-inspired booth. The Organization of the Future Pharmacists came in second with their vibrant Jamaica booth, while the BIBAK Cultural Group took third place with their United States display.
The Senior High School also won Best Non-Food Product for their beautiful Japanese Kanzashi hair ornaments. Meanwhile, the College of Medical Laboratory Science dominated the food categories such as Best in Well-decorated Food product, Best Mocktail and Best Pika-pika with their tasty chicken pops, mocktails, and snacks.
Several competitions allowed students to show their skills and talents. In the Christmas Trivia Quiz Competition, the College of Dentistry took first place, followed by the College of Nursing and the Senior High School. The Christmas Tree Making Competition showed amazing creativity. The College of Respiratory Therapy won first place, with the College of Medical Laboratory Science and Senior High School finishing next.
For the Landscape of Lights Competition, College of Pharmacy won with their bright and meaningful light display. The College of Respiratory Therapy and the College of Medical Laboratory Science also presented wonderful installations. For the Parol Making Competition, the College of Dentistry emerged as Champion, followed by the College of Respiratory Therapy as First Runner-Up, and the College of Pharmacy as Second Runner-Up.
Students’ creativity continued to shine in the Nativity of Jesus in Art Competition. The School of Medicine won the championship and the Best Nativity Presentation. The Senior High School took first runner-up, while the College of Pharmacy placed second runner-up and also won Best Artistic Direction and Visual Design.

One of the most awaited parts of the night was the Choral Competition. The School of Medicine impressed everyone with their powerful performance, winning Champion, Best Entertainment Piece, and Best Interpretation of the Contest Piece. The College of Nursing earned first runner-up, followed by the College of Dentistry.
The School of Medicine was announced as the Overall Christmas Cantata Champion Showing their unique versions of both Chorale and Nativity, showcasing their outstanding talent through their unique and powerful versions of both the Chorale and Nativity performances. Their creativity, precision, and heartfelt delivery made them stand out among all the participants, earning them well-deserved praise from the judges and the audience alike. The College of Pharmacy was first runner-up, and the Senior High School and College of Nursing placed second runner-up.

As evening came, everyone gathered for the Christmas Lighting Ceremony. Before the lights were turned on, the OFPharm-Galaw Pharmanics performed a lively number that excited the crowd. At exactly 6:00 PM, the lights lit up all at once, filling the campus with a warm, golden glow. Cheers, music, and laughter filled the air as the celebration continued.
This year’s Christmas Cantata was more than just a program, it was a beautiful display of unity, creativity, and Filipino culture. Through every performance, booth, artwork, and shining lantern, the PCC community showed the true spirit of hope, love, and justice. With hearts full of joy, Pines City Colleges welcomed the Christmas season with light and meaning. #Iveeh Amparo
