The Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP) successfully hosted International Condom Day on February 9, 2025, at Malcolm Square in Baguio City. The event was organized with the participation of FPOP Chapter Program Manager Ms. Emilyn Cadio and Mr. Wilford Umayat, Chapter Vice President. Representatives from Pines City Colleges – College of Nursing Community Engagement Services, along with volunteer nursing students, actively participated in the event. The initiative aimed to promote safe sex practices, raise awareness about sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and advocate for reproductive health education.

The program, which saw the active involvement of PCC College of Nursing, brought together attendees for an engaging and informative session. The session featured discussions on HIV prevention, STI awareness, and the importance of contraceptive use, with a special focus on the proper use of condoms and their benefits. Several activities took place throughout the day, including an HIV screening booth, the distribution of condoms and IEC materials by the student volunteers, interactive games, and an open forum where attendees could ask experts about sexual health and wellness.
Through this collaborative initiative, FPOP and other partners reinforced their commitment to empowering young individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. The event also encouraged open discussions to help break the stigma surrounding sexual health topics and promote a more educated and informed community.
