Pines City Colleges (PCC) proudly marked its 56th Founding Anniversary with a vibrant and meaningful week-long celebration held under the theme, “Educating Lifelong Learners through Transformative Disciplines for a Healthier Community.” This theme resonated through every activity and event, emphasizing PCC’s mission to not only provide quality education but to shape individuals who contribute meaningfully to society. The festivities brought together students, faculty, and staff in a dynamic series of events that reflected the institution’s commitment to fostering a balanced academic and community life while celebrating its decades-long legacy of excellence.
A Joyous Beginning
The anniversary celebration officially kicked off on September 29, 2025, with a solemn Eucharistic Mass, setting a reflective and thankful tone. This was followed by the opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Creative Trade and Innovation Fair, initiated by the Student Affairs and Services. Various student organizations participated by setting up engaging booths to entertain and interact with students.
Simultaneously, the Employees Day: Barangay Fiesta, initiated by the Human Resource Department and Employee Relations Committee, was held. This event was especially meaningful as it provided a chance not only to celebrate World Teachers’ Day but also to honor all PCC staff and employees. Pukpok palayok and pabitin signified the festive atmosphere, setting the environment for a playful mix of Filipino traditional games like sungka, piko, luksong lubid, and modern games like jengga and uno.
In the afternoon, the General Education Department held a Quiz Bee Competition that saw participation from all colleges, including Pharmacy, Dentistry, Respiratory Therapy, MLS, Nursing, Medicine as well as the Senior High School (SHS) Department.
Following this, SHS department hosted an Extemporaneous Speech Competition, with participants from the College of Pharmacy, SHS, and School of Medicine. Meanwhile, the Spoken Poetry Competition featured contestants from the College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, and SHS.
Creativity and Competition
The second day began with a meaningful Medical Fair organized by the Community Engagement Services (CES), providing health services within the campus. Meanwhile, artistic talents were showcased during the Charcoal Drawing and Digital Painting Competitions, organized by the SHS Department and ICT. These competitions brought out the creativity and imagination of PCC’s young artists.
In the afternoon, the excitement ramped up with the PCC Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Intercollegiate Competition, an initiative of the ICT Department and Student Affairs and Services. The event fostered camaraderie, strategic thinking, and friendly competition among employees and students.
Talent and Purpose
Day three featured the high-energy Song and Dance Competition, led by the departments of Pharmacy, Dental Medicine, and Respiratory Therapy. Participants from across all colleges and SHS showcased their musical and dancing talents, bringing the audience to life with their performances.
On the fourth day, the spotlight turned to the faculty and non-teaching staff during the Variety Show for a Cause, organized by Project ANGELS under CES. This heartwarming event provided an opportunity for employees to share their unique talents, all while contributing to a charitable cause.
Honoring Dedication: Employee Service Awards
Capping off the celebration was the Employee Service Awards held on October 4, 2025, at the Titanium Hall, Hotel Supreme. This prestigious event recognized long-serving employees for their unwavering dedication to the institution.
Among the honorees were:
- Ms. Ma. Teresa Padlan – 35 years of service
- Ms. Buna Racal – 20 years of service
- Ms. Rinaliza Bogsulen – 15 years of service
- Ms. Cherry Cawis, Ms. Rosanna Manlongat, & Ms. Virginia Helen Palome – 10 years of service
- Ms. Germilyn Flora – 5 years of service
These individuals were honored for their steadfast commitment, passion, and loyal service to PCC.
